Originally designed in the late 19th century and since thoughtfully restored in the classic Edwardian & Art Deco style of its first residents, The Alfred gives it’s guests a glimpse into the charm & elegance of a world gone by. Sitting amongst historic sandstone, this room is the epitome of elegance for a sophisticated and intimate wedding. With gorgeous banquet chairs, a sleek bar, detailed lighting and a touch of gold & silver in all the right places, the venue is a romantic choice for up to 60 guests seated or 120 guests standing. With AV capabilities for speeches and formalities and an adjoining lounge for pre or post wedding entertaining, this is a venue unlike any other.
Brides and grooms can select their dining options from either the award winning contemporary Japanese fare from Sake Restaurant & Bar, or the elegant classics from The Cut Bar & Grill. Complemented by an extensive wine list, our team will work closely with you to develop an unforgettable menu. Couples hosting their wedding at the Private Dining Room have access to multiple striking photo opportunities within the grounds of The Argyle, and guests are also invited to continue the celebration long after the reception concludes, by visiting any one of the bars within our Rocks precinct venues.
Recently revamped to reflect a new European design aesthetic, The York Event Space effortlessly teams sleek city style with a warm, homely atmosphere. The York Event Space is situated downstairs and features an open kitchen and lounge area, the stunning heritage building can house up to 300 cocktail style or 170 seated, making it a premium inner-city destination for weddings and special occassions.

Saké Restaurant & Bar Hamer Hall
A bride’s dream, with expansive outdoor entertaining for pre-reception mingling and views of the Yarra River make for an impressive wedding location. Suitable for stand-up or seated dining events, small groups of just 40 can be accommodated on the Mezzanine dining level, or larger groups of up to 100 guests can be seated on the main restaurant floor. If your wedding reception is a little larger, a group of up to 250 can be easily accommodated in a stand-up cocktail format.
Our chefs will work with you to design a menu that is contemporary and delicious, making use of the flavours that Saké is renowned for. For something out of the box and effortlessly stunning, Saké Hamer Hall is a modern bride’s favourite!
